The event will feature workshops, bike demo’s, bike polo, marketstalls, bike artwork, bike safety and a showcase bike arena.

Harbour School, Redwood Park School and Priory School were each given two bikes last month. One of the bikes was a wooden starter bike and the other a second-hand bike. Their task was to customise the bikes as much as possible. The photograph above is from Harbour School with their wonderful display of ideas for the graphics for the wooden bike. Below are some photographs of the customisation process and the finished bike.
Below are photographs from Redwood Park School – the horse bike and also their wooden bike which can currently be viewed in Bellamy’s Antiques window on Albert Road.
I will update this post soon with further details on the bikes and Priory School entries. The winner will be announced at the event on 30th May and they will receive a trophy designed by local blacksmith Peter Clutterbuck and a free workshop on screen-printing by Badger Press.
Make sure you visit Bellamy’s Antiques on Albert Road where a showcase of bikes can be seen including Chris Borneo’s Major Nicols restoration bike, Dave Kirby’s bike sculpture, a wooden bike from Redwood Park School in Cosham and spoke cards from artists all over the city. Also featured is a canvas by Farkfk, Deckchair by Rory Berry which was part of the Southsea Deck Your Chairs project last year.

Samme Snow was also screen-printing and you can his designs and more from the others at the event.
